BF1942: The Escape From StaLag 13 - Version: 1.0-FINAL (24.08.2003)

This is the Battlefield 1942 map "The Escape From StaLag13". Please excuse and
report bugs.

Description:

On a late afternoon of an autumn day in 1944, the heros of StaLag 13 decided to
leave the "hardest" POW camp in germany. The selected day is perfect. Near by the
camp pauses a german armored unit on their way to the russia frontline. With a tricky
plan, all soldiers of this unit are in the city to celebrate the birthday of the
"moustache". Without guarding, the tanks are easy to use after leaving the prison.>
And leaving the prison is also very easy, because when "Oberst Klink" noticed the
escape, all heros are over the hills.
On their way to the "Road To Duesseldorf", the way to the allied lines, our heros
have to get the control over the City of "Hammelburg". But from the near GeStaPo HQ
is "Major Hochsteadter" on the way to "Hammelburg". Has the order to catch our heros
and bring them back to StaLag 13.

This is a nice looking map with some new ideas. So I made the roofs of the city passable
and placed some machineguns there. The buildings are fully open and you can enter them
from all sides with ladders or normaly through the door.
Around the main battlefiled, wich has no soldier spwans, there is a huge area with great
hiding places to form a new attack. The longer respawn times of vehicles will force the
teamplay and the need of repair and refill your ammo.

Status:

The map ist finaly ready and free for distribution. It is not allowed to modify
the map without my permission!

Installation:

To play the map simply copy the file StaLag13.rfa into the level directory of your
BF1942 installation. The path can be for example:
c:\bf1942\mods\bf1942\Archives\bf1942\levels\

Known bugs and problems:

The "military" fance around StaLag 13 has a known bug with the collision map.
you will crash when you fly over the fance in low altitude. This is a known bug
coused by the BC editor.

Tactical Hints:

I tried to make some new way in tactical thinking. Normaly, all weapons and vehicles
are spawning very fast. So there ist no realy reason to take care of them. In this
map the static weepons like the flak or the gun don't respwan. The machineguns will
be replaced in 5 Minutes. The vehicles come back after 2,5 to 10 Minutes.
Also I have made the time to live longer, so abandoned vehicles are longer available.

I think, this is a bit more realistic and I hope it increses the fun and then teamwork.

There are 7 control points on the map. The bases for bothe teams are impenetrable and they
have no effect to the ticket bleeding. Either the farm near the StaLag 13 has no effect to
the ticket bleeding, but it can be captured by both teams.
On the ways to the city of "Hammelburg" are two checkpoints. One for each team. This check-
points should reduce the way to the city. They have spwan points and could be captured by
both teams. At the checkpoint for the axis team are two heavy tanks because the way for this
team is much longer.
The city of "Hammelburg" will be the main battlefiled. This control point has no spawn point.
It will be nearly impossible to capture the city if the enemy can respawn her.
In the north there is the last controll point. This ist the "Street to Duesseldorf". The point
is marked by an other farm. Conditional wich team is holding the control point is this the
break through to the allied lines and reinforcemants for the allied team or a strengthening for
the axis team.
For ticket bleeding one team has to hold 3 of the 4 "northern" (red labeled) control points!
