Microsoft Reference Display Troubleshooter

Determine the version of your video driver, as follows:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click System.

  3. Click the Device Manager tab.

  4. Click the PLUS SIGN (+) next to Display Adapters.

  5. Double-click your listed video card.

  6. Click the Drivers tab. If you are using Microsoft Windows 98, click Driver File Details.

  7. Make note of the driver versions listed here.

If the video driver version listed here is not a Windows 95/98 driver (4.x), or is listed in the programs Readme.txt file as an incorrect version, then you should contact your video card manufacturer for a replacement driver.
