Selecting a Level
Once you've completed the first mission level, Hyde Park, you have the choice of playing several different levels. This choice continues to branch as you work your way deeper into the game. You can also replay mission levels that you have already completed, a necessity if your current pathway dead-ends. You do not need to play all levels to reach the final mission of the game.
To select a level
- Start Urban Assault.
- On the Main Menu, click Single-Player.
- On the Level Select screen, click any available map region:
- Gray regions indicate completed mission levels.
- White regions indicate uncompleted mission levels.
After selecting a mission level, its mission briefing begins automatically. Mission briefings include the map locations of all key sectors, beam gates, technology upgrades, enemy host stations and vehicles, and the location of your own Host Station and vehicles.
- To start the mission, click the Start Mission button at any point during the briefing.
For an overview of how to play single-player games, see Introduction: Single-Player Games.
Pathways
You can play through all mission levels to reach the last level of the game, or you can bypass certain levels and reach the last level in a more direct manner. Your choice as to which level you choose to play affects the branching sequence of later levels. At times you may reach a standstill, finding it impossible to defeat your enemies along the pathway you've chosen. In this situation, you may have to replay an earlier level in order to acquire technology upgrades and enhance your vehicles.
