Often photos contain flaws such as scratches. In other instances, colors are too sharp or too soft, or perhaps the brightness and contrast of a photo needs adjustment.

To touch-up a photo:

  1. Click the Photos button on the Navigation panel.

  2. Click the Touchup & Transform icon located below the buttons.

  3. Choose Touchup from the flyout of options displayed.

  4. Choose whether to apply the effect to the entire photo or to a selected area within the photo. Use the Area Selection tools to select specific areas; use the Select All tool to touchup the entire photo. To learn how to select a specific area within a photo, see Area Selection tools.

    Note: Use the Zoom / Pan tools on the Toolbar to isolate a selection area at a suitable magnification level.

  5. Choose the desired effect from the Touchups list. For a description of each effect, see Touchup Effects.

  6. Use the controls provided to adjust the amount of effect to be applied.

  7. Select the Preview control to preview the effect before applying it to the photo.

  8. Click the Apply button when you are satisfied with the effect being previewed.

Auto Enhance

Select this effect to automatically enhance the colors of the photo.

Brightness and Contrast

Use the Brightness slider to adjust the overall brightness of the photo. Use the Contrast slider to enhance the contrast between the light and dark areas of the photo; light areas are made lighter while dark areas are made darker.

Fix Colors

Select this effect to adjust the hue, saturation, and grayscale values of a photo. All colors comprising the photo are adjusted simultaneously as you move the sliders.

Scratch Removal

Select this effect to automatically remove scratches from a photo. Use The Radius slider to adjust the effect.

Sharpen

Use this effect to sharpen the detail of a photo. Choose between a moderate sharpening effect, and a more pronounced one.

Soften

Use this effect to soften, or blur a photo. Use the Intensity slider to adjust the degree of the effect.

Invert

Select this effect to invert colors, or toggle between contrasting colors of a color table. For example, black pixels are replaced with white, and white pixels with black as you would expect looking at the negative of a photo.
