Introduction

When you click the Projects button, the Navigation panel displays the Project activities. These include Photo Layouts, Cards & Calendars, Fun, Business, and Save, Print & Send.

To create a new Project:

Click the New tool on the Command bar. The Command bar is located above the Work area.

or

On the File menu, click New.

or

Press the CTRL+N keyboard combination.
In the New dialog displayed, specify the orientation, units of measure, dimensions, and resolution of the new project.
Click OK to close the dialog. A new, or blank project is displayed in the Work area.

Options

Orientation

Specify the orientation of the new project on the page. Choose between Portrait and Landscape.

Size

Specify the size of the new project. From the Size list, choose between several predefined sizes, or select Custom Size to specify your own. If you select Custom Size, specify the dimensions of the image in the Width and Height value fields.

Units

Specify the units of measure in which the dimensions of the new project are expressed. From the Units list, choose between pixels, inches, and centimeters.

Width

The width of the new image expressed in the selected units of measure. If you selected Custom Size above, specify the width of the new project in this field. If you selected a predefined size above, this field is filled automatically.

Height

The height of the new project expressed in the selected units of measure. If you selected Custom Size above, specify the height of the new project in this field. If you selected a predefined size above, this field is filled automatically.

Resolution

The resolution of the new project expressed in dots per inch.

Image Size

The estimated file size of the new project.

Activities

Photo Layouts lets you create collages, place your photos into photo packages, group photos, comic book pages, photo albums, posters, and edge effects.

The Collage activity allows you to combine several photos (or sections of photos) into a single image. The collage can be made up of images, props, text, or sections with special effects applied, combined to create a unique image.

Create personalized cards and calendars using your own unique photo. The Cards & Calendars activity makes it easy to place your photo into one of the many card and calendar templates.

Choose from yearly, quarterly and monthly calendars, greeting cards, postcards, bookmarks and wedding collection templages. Personalize your photo even more by adding text, props, or special effects to the photo before or after placing it into the template.

The Fun activity lets you create personalized sport cards, backgrounds, ID cards, and magazine covers.

The Business activity lets you create personalized business cards, certificates, lables, page layouts, promotions and name tags to give your business a professional look.

The Save, Print & Send activity allows you to save your work to disk, print your work, print a photo package, create a Web page, send via e-mail, and save as Windows wallpaper.

Once you have chosen a project, use the Toolbar to change views, adjust layers, add text, props, word balloons, shadows and picture frames.
