To draw filled ellipses and circles [with borders]:

Click the Filled Ellipse With Border tool on the Toolbar. If you do not see the tool, click and hold the Filled Shapes tool that is currently visible, and select the Filled Ellipse With Border tool from the flyout displayed.

Draw the shape.
To draw an ellipse:
-
Click and hold the left mouse button at one imaginary "corner" of the ellipse you wish to draw.
-
Drag the mouse to its diagonally opposite "corner".
Note: Press and hold the [Ctrl] key as you drag the mouse to draw an ellipse from its origin instead of from corner to corner.
Note: Press the [Esc] key at any time, but before the ellipse is anchored, to abort the operation.

Release the mouse button to anchor the ellipse.
Note: Click the Undo tool on the Command Bar if you wish to erase the ellipse and begin again.
To draw a circle:

Click and hold the left mouse button at one imaginary "corner" of the circle you wish to draw.

Drag the mouse to the diagonally opposite "corner".

Adjust the attributes of the shape's border, such as thickness, with the Brush Preview also located in the Settings area. Click the [Up] and [Down] arrows to adjust the size of the brush. Click the Brush Preview box to choose another type of brush. For more information, see Paint Tools.

Move the mouse, and click at locations to define the endpoints of each line segment comprising the polygon.

Note: Press and hold the [Shift] key to constrain the line segments to increments of 45 degrees.
Note: Press the [Backspace] key to backup the operation one line segment at a time. Press the [Esc] key at any time, but before the shape is anchored, to abort the operation entirely.

To draw a freehand shape, or smooth polyline:

Press and hold the left mouse button, and drag the mouse to define the shape.
Note: Press and hold the [Shift] key to constrain mouse movement to one direction only.
Note: Press the [Backspace] key to backup the operation one line segment at a time. Press the [Esc] key at any time, but before the shape is anchored, to abort the operation entirely.
