[TUTORIAL] tutorial00: Welcome. Please be sure to follow these instructions carefully. If at any time you feel lost, or have managed to break this fragile tutorial, please return to the Game Avatar by pressing the 'ESC' key, and reload the mission. Right-click on this panel to dismiss it. tutorial01: You interact with the world via your cursor. The right mouse button is normally used to open and close interfaces. The left mouse button is used to interact with objects, menu options and buttons. Right-click on this panel to dismiss it. tutorial02: You should first become familiar with the game camera controls. The camera can move almost anywhere within the station, and can look in any direction. It can change height, and slide from side to side. There are three elements to successful camera control. Right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial03: Scrolling. To scroll around your station, use the cursor keys, or move the mouse cursor to the edges of your screen. Try it. When ready right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial04: Changing height. If you have a mousewheel, rolling it will change the height of the camera. Otherwise use the 'Insert' and 'Delete' keys on your keyboard. Try it. When ready right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial05: Looking around. This is the hardest camera control to master. To look around, hold down the middle mouse button, or 'right ctrl' on your keyboard. Keeping these keys held down, move the mouse in the direction you wish to look. Try it. When ready right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial06: Take some time to get used to the controls. When ready right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial07: These are crates. Almost all inanimate objects, such as crates, can be beamed into your pattern buffer. Place the cursor over a crate and left-click. tutorial08: To beam the topmost item of your pattern buffer down, place the cursor over an empty area on the deck and left-click. tutorial09: This is a test message. Left-click on the green check to confirm you have read the message and delete it. Right-click anywhere to minimise the message without deleting it. tutorial16: Click here with the left mouse button to activate this message. tutorial10: Do you wish to move to the next lesson? Left-click the green check for yes, the red cross for no. Right-click to minimise the message and reply later. tutorial11: This is a scuzzer crate. It contains a scuzzer droid. To open this type of crate, place the cursor over the crate and right-click. tutorial12: To activate the scuzzer within, left-click on the 'unpack cargo' icon. If you accidentally right-click the icon away, just right-click on the crate again. tutorial13: The scuzzer is now active and ready to work. Right-click here to continue. tutorial14: This is a hardplan crate. It contains the blueprint for a facility, in this case an Energy Collector. Right-click on the crate. tutorial15: To open the crate and invoke a collector blueprint, left-click on the unpack cargo icon. If you accidentally right-click the icon away, just right-click on the crate again. tutorial18: A blueprint for the Collector is now at your cursor. You can move it around the floor of the station. When in a valid build location, it will be blue. If any part of the blueprint is illegally placed, it will turn red. Dark red blocks show which part of the blueprint is illegal. To rotate this room, hold down the left mouse button and move the cursor in the direction you wish the room to face. To place the blueprint down, use a single left-click. tutorial19: You can pick up a blueprint and move it around. Place the cursor over the centre of the blueprint and left-click. tutorial20: The blueprint is back on your cursor. Move the camera around to find a suitable location, and legally place down the blueprint with a left-click. tutorial21: You've run ahead of yourself somewhat. You might want to restart the tutorial. Otherwise, continue by right-clicking on this panel. tutorial22: To confirm the blueprint and commence construction, move the cursor over 'Accept' and left-click. Your scuzzer droid will now get to work and build the collector. tutorial23: Congratulations! You have completed the first tutorial. Left-click the green check to go to the next mission. Right-click to minimise the message and reply later. tutorial24: This tutorial will explain the basics of placing furniture and equipment. tutorial25: This crate contains a Bench. Open the crate and left-click on the unpack icon. tutorial26: A blueprint for the Bench is now at your cursor. You can move it around in the same fashion as a room. To rotate the furniture, hold down the left mouse button and move the cursor in the direction you wish the furniture to face. To place the furniture blueprint down, use a single left-click. tutorial27: Experiment with beaming furniture up, and placing it down in differing location. You'll notice that two left-clicks are required to beam furniture down - the first places a blueprint that you can move and re-orient, the second actually beams it onto the deck. Once happy with the system, right-click this message to continue. tutorial28: Open the berth hardplan crate that has been provided. tutorial29: Activate the blueprint within. tutorial30: The Berth has a variable room size that you can adjust. A single corner of the room is displayed at the cursor location. Find an area of open space on the deck, and left click to place the blueprint down. tutorial31: You can now drag out the shape of the room by moving your cursor. Drag out a room until it turns blue, then press the left mouse button to set it in place. tutorial32: You can pick up the blueprint and move it around by left clicking in its centre. tutorial33: Find a nice spot for the blueprint and place it down. tutorial34: You can resize a blueprint by left clicking on one of its corners or on an edge and moving the cursor. A second left click fixes the blueprint size. tutorial35: You can practise resizing the blueprint size. When ready to confirm the room, left click on the accept button in the build menu. tutorial36: Adding furniture: Choose an item from the build menu with a left click. Doors must be placed next to walls. Items can be rotated by pressing and holding the left mouse button, then moving the cursor in the direction you wish the item to face. Placed items can be deleted by left clicking on them. When you have placed a door and at least one slumber pod, press the accept button. tutorial37: You've run ahead of yourself somewhat. To do this, right click on the room itself. tutorial42: Left-click on the 'edit room' button to bring up the furniture menu. tutorial43: You can add furniture in exactly the same fashion as before - once happy with your additional placements, press the green accept button to close the build menu and accept the new furniture. tutorial44: So far so good. Right-click this message to learn about opening up new segments. tutorial45: This is a simple lesson. To open up a new segment, right-click on either of the large bulkhead doors. A large button will appear, detailing the cost of occupying a new segment. Left-click on this button to confirm the command. tutorial46: Now we will learn how to interact with aliens. Look around the station until you spot the Grey alien that is wandering around. Right-click on him. tutorial47: You now have its attention. This interface allows you to interact with the alien. Leave your cursor over each button to discover its purpose. Spend some time interacting with the little guy. To close the interface right-click anywhere on the screen. tutorial48: Left-click the green check to go initiate the next tutorial. Right-click to minimise the message and reply later. tutorial50: This will demonstrate how to place a cargo hold, one of two facilities in the game that must be placed next to a hull wall to function. tutorial51: This crate contains a Cargo Hold. Open the crate and click on the unpack icon. tutorial52: A blueprint for a Cargo Hold is now at your cursor. It will only become valid if placed to rest against a Hull wall. With this knowledge build a Cargo Hold. tutorial53: There - a simple note on building the Cargo Bay. Now on to trading. tutorial54: Accept this message to begin trading. tutorial55: Read and accept the message that has just arrived. This will bring up the trade interface. Items you can buy are on the left, items you can sell on the right. Experiment with buying and selling goods to the trader. tutorial56: If you have a Cargo Hold, items that you have bought are placed there. Cargo left on the decks will eventually decay, so a Cargo Hold is the preferred method of storing your goods. If the Trade Panel is active, right-click to remove it. To view the contents of the Cargo Hold, right-click on the Cargo Hold. tutorial60: You really should build a Cargo Hold. Do this to continue the tutorial. tutorial57: Your items are stored in one of five categories. To view the contents of a category, left-click on the appropriate icon. To remove something from a category, left click on the item. It will move to your pattern buffer. tutorial58: To place an item into the Cargo Hold, either beam it onto the floor and wait for a Scuzzer to collect it, or beam it directly into an empty space in the Cargo Hold. You can also beam items directly out of the hold spaces by left-clicking on the stored item. tutorial59: Left-click the green check to return to the Game Avatar and choose a new mission. If you want to remain and practise buying and selling, right-click to minimise the message and reply later. tutorial70: This tutorial allows you to learn how to modify the biodeck. tutorial71: Modifying the land: Left-click on this icon. tutorial72: The cursor is now in Land Modify mode. Left-click on the landscape to raise it. Right-click on the landscape to lower it. Hold both mouse buttons to flatten the landscape. Right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial73: Modifying the water: Left-click on this icon. tutorial74: The cursor is now in Water Modify mode. Left-click on the landscape to add water. Right-click on the landscape to remove it. Right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial75: The same methods are used with the last two modify buttons - one adds or removes moisture from the soil. The other adjusts the temperature of the soil. Try them out. When ready, right-click on this panel to continue. tutorial76: These buttons determine the strength, or the size of the modify effect. Click on the weakest effect to continue. tutorial77: If you adjust the landscape, you'll notice your changes are subtle. Click on the strongest effect to continue. tutorial78: If you adjust the landscape, you'll notice your changes are obvious. Right-click this panel to continue. tutorial79: To revert to normal cursor control that doesn't adjust the biodeck, left-click on this button. tutorial80: Congratulations! You have completed the biodeck tutorial. When you are ready, left-click the green check to go to the next mission. Otherwise, minimise this message with a right-click and return to the biodeck to practice your skills. tutorial81: This will demonstrate how to control your forces in a conflict. tutorial82: These are the four alien types that will fight for you in the event of conflict. tutorial83: Muster Points are used to gather your forces prior to an attack. To place a muster point, place the cursor over an empty area of deck then press and hold the right mouse button for a few seconds. Right-click on this panel once you have created a Muster Point. tutorial84: To gather your forces around the Muster Point, left-click on it. The more times you left-click, the greater the importance of the Muster Point. The importance of a target determines what percentage of you forces will gather there. tutorial85: To reduce the importance of a target, right-click on the target. If you reduce a Muster Point's importance enough, it will disappear. tutorial86: Play around with placing and removing Muster Points. You can have more than one if you wish to split your forces up. When ready to continue right-click on this panel. tutorial87: Now we will introduce some live target practice. Remember, to target an enemy agent or item, left-click on it. Be sure to remove any muster points you have active. When ready, right-click on this panel. tutorial88: Right, lets top up your forces once more. Now we'll learn about breaching segments. tutorial89: Now you can learn about taking over enemy segments. To take over a segment, you must first set your opponent as an enemy. To do this, bring up the Station Management Panel. Left-click here. tutorial90: Left-click once more on the Overview button. tutorial91: Left-click on the two opponent icons in the bottom right hand corner to set them to 'foe'. tutorial92: Right-click to close down the Management Panel. tutorial93: Good. You need a security scuzzer to breach a segment - a couple have been provided. Now right-click on the bulkhead doors (you may need to check both doors). One will display a blue breach icon. Left-click this icon to initiate a breach. tutorial94: A security scuzzer will now breach the lock. The message that has just appeared allows you to cancel a breach if you change your mind. If you accidentally confirm this message, you will need to re-initiate the breach to continue the tutorial. Right-click this message when ready. tutorial95: Once your security scuzzer has breached the doors, you have access to the new segment. To take control of the new segment, find the lock unit on the far side of the segment - it will have a red light above it. Right-click on the lock unit to bring up the capture icon. Left-click the capture icon, and a security scuzzer will get to work capturing the segment. tutorial96: Well done. Now, take over the next segment in the same fashion. tutorial97: Well done.
