Use skins to change the appearance of Windows Media Player in compact mode. Each skin has a distinct appearance that usually incorporates basic Windows Media Player functions such as play, previous, next, stop, and the ability to adjust the volume. Skins can also play certain audio files, or show a specific visualization, or a variety of other things.
Note You must select the Digital playback check box on the CD Audio tab for visualizations to work when playing a CD track. To verify that the check box is selected, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the CD Audio tab.
Windows Media Player includes several skins, but you can also download them from the Internet. When you apply a skin, that skin displays whenever you change from full mode to compact mode. To preview a skin before you apply it, in the Skin Chooser feature, click the name of the skin. The skin is applied when you switch Windows Media Player to compact mode. You can change skins as often as you like, but you must be in full mode to do so.
Note The skin you apply may not support all the functionality that Windows Media Player provides.
