Assigning Drive Letters Using the Iomega Drive Letter Manager. If you add or remove drives to or from your system, you may find that drive letters change for other drives in My Computer and Windows Explorer. Iomega has added functionality to the Drive Letter Manager making it easy to reassign your Iomega drive to a specific drive letter. When you use the Drive Letter Manager, a list of available drive letters are displayed (including network drives). The Drive Letter Manager allows you to select which drive letter you want assigned to each drive attached to your system by selecting a new drive letter in the pull-down menu box just below the drive icon. You can only assign drive letters to removable media devices such as an Iomega drive or your CD-ROM. You cannot assign drive letters to hard disks or network drives using the Drive Letter Manager. NOTE: In order for the Drive Letter Manager to function properly, it is necessary to reboot your system after making changes using it. You do have the option to reboot immediately or to wait, but the reassigned drive letters will only change after rebooting. Return to the top of this page.
