BattleMail takes the privacy of its users ("Players") seriously.BattleMail
games are about fun for the Player and as such the Player's privacy is
of paramount importance to BattleMail. This policy is applicable at the
point of installation of the software.
1. What information do we collect and why? 1.1 Registration information When you first use BattleMail dependent upon which game you have chosen we ask you to provide us with your age (within certain bounds), your sex ,your location, the football team you support , your job description and your region within the UK. We collect this information as we believe that BattleMail Games should be free to our Players and so to fund this, we sell advertising space within the games. In order to sell this space, we provide generic information about our Players to advertisers. For example an advertiser may purchase advertising space on the consoles of male users between 20 - 30 years old in the US for a particular time. That advertiser will never know the e-mail address of the Players who saw their advert. 1.2 Your e-mail address We also collect your e-mail address to identify you in order that we can provide the services accessible via our web site such as league tables etc and in order that we can allow you to progress through the various levels of the BattleMail Games. This identification does allow us to track your use of the BattleMail Games but this information is only ever made available in a generic form as detailed below. 1.3 Your Domain From Your e-mail address we can identify what domain youare using i.e. joebloggs@virgin.net, virgin being Your domain. We will use domains as a category for profiling users allowing advertisers to focus on particular domains. 1.4 E-Commerce If you purchase an item from our e commerce store you will be asked for further information. The type of information we will collect about you includes:
your name
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. 1.5 Children Battlemail recommends that if you are a child that you have the permission
of your parent or guardian to register with us.
2. What do we do with the information and who do we provide it to? As we have pointed out, we do make information available to advertisers.
The information provided to advertisers never relates to particular individuals
and BattleMail will never distribute Players' e-mail addresses to third
parties. Advertisers will thus never know the unique identities of BattleMail
Players.
3. How do we keep the information secure? We store all information on our own servers which are hosted in a secure
environment protected by a fire wall.
4. How can you remove information we hold about you? If you wish to remove your information and unsubscribe from BattleMail
please send a blank e-mail to unsubscribe@battlemail.com from the e-mail
address you used originally to register with BattleMail. This will remove
you completely from the system and you will not be able to play Battlemail.
5. What happens if we change our policy ? Battlemail may amend this policy to reflect changes in statute and other matters of good practice from time to time.
