The large number of companies offering data recovery services are testament to the fact that a file can be located and restored even after it has been erased. IronBin is an application which uses a multiple wipe facility to give you security that your data will remain confidential after it has been erased. It is recommended to select the required number of wipes in proportion to the value of your data. Maximum security is offered by 10 wipes for a file erasure.

IronBin is both easy to install, and user-friendly. Wiping operations replace the data contained in a selected file with either fixed or randomly generated data patterns. When choosing which of these data patterns you wish to use please bear in mind that randomly generated data patterns offer higher levels of security.

Selection of files for secure erasure is conducted by clicking on the required file with your mouse, and placing the file in the IronBin icon. Alternatively you may select the file by entering Windows explorer, clicking on your right mouse button, and using the "Send to" option.
