1. About Chess3D

Chess3D is simple, but fully functional chess game aiming at friendly gaming of two players on one PC, local network and over internet.

Since the beginning of this project we knew, that it will be playable only in two players. We've never been thinking over making of artificial intelligence.

Chess3D are offered for download for free as freeware (anyone can distribute and use it without any restrictions, except of forbidden changes of application, publishing as own product and publishing for any kind profit).

2. Installing Chess3D

Easiest way to get Chess3D into your computer is using installer, which can be downloaded at http://chess3d.nf-soft.com.

Chess3D installer was made using Nullsoft Scriptable Install System (http://nsis.sourceforge.net/) and is fully automatized.


3. Controls

Controlling of Chess3D can be done using only a mouse, but some features requires using of keyboard.

Selecting of piece is done by clicking at it, and moving by clicking at field you want that piece to move to or at enemy piece you want to capture.

When some of your pawns reaches opposite side of checkboard, he turns into rook, knight, bishop or queen. You can order him what to turn to using dialog that appears at the top of screen.

Castling can be done by moving king two fields towards rook.

To move camera use arrows at keyboard and for "zooming" use + and - at numpad.

In multiplayer you can open chat by pressing enter during game.


4. Issues

If application popups error message and crashes, install Visual C++ 2005 runtime, which can be downloaded at http://chess3d.nf-soft.com.
