Device - Choose the portable device you intend to work with. You will need to use this option if you have more than one device plugged in at once or if you have a device with more than one memory card that displays as separate storage locations.

Appearance - Check to have the PDM always be the top window. Setting this option may make it easier to drag files from Windows Explorer or Musicmatch Jukebox to the Portable Device Manager

Messages - Click the Reset button to receive messages about Portable Device Manger options and tasks that may require your attention.

Download Settings - If you use Musicmatch supplied sound enhancements or Volume Leveling you can add those effects to your portable device tracks.

• Apply current digital sound enhancements - Check to add DFX sound enhancements to tracks downloading to your portable device.

• Apply Volume Leveling - Check to add Volume Leveling to tracks downloading to your portable device.

Resample Rates - Change the bit rate (file quality) of tracks while downloading to a portable device. Reducing the file size saves memory, allowing you to add more music to a device.  

(If the slider is all the way to the right, you're asking it to find track which are larger than 160kbps, and then resample those track down to 160kbps.)

Resampling may not work on all players.

Auto Sync

Auto Sync whenever Musicmatch detects my device is connected. - Check to have Musicmatch automatically  synchronize (download) the tracks in the Library to your portable device (according to your Synchronize settings).

Launch Musicmatch whenever I connect my device. - Check to start Musicmatch whenever you connect a known portable device to your PC.

Synchronization Modes

Complete library synchronization - Downloads all tracks from the Library to the portable device. (Some portable devices may not have enough memory to download all tracks in the library).

Selected playlist synchronization - Downloads playlists of tracks from playlists you've created. Select this option and then check any combination of boxes below to synchronize between the Library and device.

Protect Content on Device

Protect content from being deleted - Selecting will only add files, never delete them. It will not create duplicate files on your device. Not selecting this option will add and delete files so as to match the Library or Playlists, exactly.
