Options
Options Duplicate Files / Options page allows you to customize additional
search locations and options for the Duplicate
File Finder.
Section Requirements for Duplicate Matches defines the rules for duplicated
search (except the DLL files, which have their own
options).
- Require same name - the files must have the same name to be considered duplicates
- Require same size - the files must have the same size to be considered duplicates
- Same Creation Date & Time - the files must have the same creation date and time to
be considered duplicates
- Same File Content - the files must have the same content to be considered duplicates.
This options allows find true file duplicates despite different names or creation time but
can take a lot of time.
- Ignore files less than - skip files smaller then specified while looking for duplicates.
Section Advanced options contains additional search settings instructing
Duplicates Finder to skip or include certain search areas:
- Skip SYSBCKUP folder - do not look for duplicates in the SYSBCKUP folder
- Skip Windows Virtual Folders - do not look for duplicates in Windows Virtual Folders
- Skip Desktop.ini folder - do not look for duplicates in Desktop.ini folder
- Skip zero-length folder - do not look for duplicates in empty-size folders
- Skip hidden files and folder - do not look for duplicates among files and folders
with the Hidden attribute
- Include write-protected files - look for duplicates among write-protected files.
Please note that though we provide you with such a possibility, we however recommend to
avoid using it as this is potentially risky.
