Configuring e-mail processing in Microsoft Office Outlook
|
If you use Microsoft Outlook as your mail client, you can set up custom virus scan configurations.
When you install Active Virus Shield, a special plug-in is installed in Microsoft Office Outlook. It will allow you to quickly review E-mail Anti-Virus settings and also determine at what time the e-mail will be scanned for dangerous objects.
The plug-in comes in the form of a special Active Virus Shield tab located under Tools « Options within Microsoft Outlook.
Select the e-mail scan modes:
Scan on delivery - analyze every e-mail when it enters your inbox.
Scan on read - scan the e-mail when you open it to read it.
Scan on send - analyze each e-mail you send for viruses at the time that you send it.
 |
Warning!
If you connect to your mail service using the Microsoft Office Outlook IMAP protocol, it is recommended that you do not use the Scan upon Receiving mode. Enabling this mode will force e-mails to be copied to the local computer when delivered them to the server, and consequently the main advantage of IMAP, creating less traffic and dealing with unwanted e-mail on the server without copying them to the user's computer, is lost
