Shutting down the program
|
If you have to shut down Active Virus Shield, select
Exit from the program's
context menu. The program will unload itself. Please be aware the doing so may leave your computer unprotected.
Active Virus Shield monitors network connections. If these connections are active when you try to close the program, a notice will appear on the screen stating that active connections will be disabled. This is necessary for Active Virus Shield to shut down correctly. If you do not confirm, the connections are cut off automatically after ten seconds. Most connections that are terminated will be restored automatically after a brief interval.
Note
that if you are downloading a file without a download manager when the connection is terminated, the file transfer may be interrupted and you may have to download the file again.
|
You can choose not to interrupt the connections by clicking No in the message window. If you do so, the program will continue running.
If you closed the program, you can enable computer protection again by opening Active Virus Shield (Start → Programs → Active Virus Shield→ Active Virus Shield).
Protection can also be resumed automatically after rebooting your computer. To enable this, select the
Protection section in the program settings window and check
Run Active Virus Shield at startup.
