Scanning selected areas of your computer for malicious objects is one of the key tasks in protecting your computer. By default, Active Virus Shield will automatically scan Startup objects every time you turn on your computer. Active Virus Shield is also scheduled, by default, to run a full scan as well as a critical area scan each day. After installation, if you need to edit these schedule or disable them, you can do so by clicking on Settings.

It is also recommended to run a full virus scan immediately after installation.
