Working with backup copies
|
The total number of backup copies of objects placed in the repository is displayed in the
Data files in the
Service. In the right-hand part of the screen there is a special
Backup section that displays:
- the number of backup copies of objects created during Active Virus Shield operation;
- the current size of
Backup.
You can delete all of the copies in backup with the Clean up... button.
In order to work with copies of dangerous objects,
left-click in any part of the Backup section.
A list of backup copies is displayed in the central portion of the backup tab. The following information is given for every copy: the full name of the object with the path to the original location, the status of the object, and its size.
You can restore the selected copies using the Restore button. The object is restored from the backup copy with the same name that it had prior to disinfection.
If there is an object in the original location with that name (this situation is possible when a restored object with a copy created prior to disinfection), a corresponding warning will pop up. You can change the location of the restored object or rename it.
We recommend that you scan the object for viruses immediately after restoring it. It is possible that with updated signatures you will be able disinfect it without losing file integrity.
We do not recommend that you restore backup copies of objects unless absolutely necessary. This could lead to an infection on your computer.

We recommend that you periodically examine the repository and empty it using the
Delete button. You can also set up the program so that it independently
deletes the oldest copies from backup.
