Every time you begin updating, Active Virus Shield first creates a backup copy of the current threat signatures and after this starts downloading updates. This way you can return to using the previous version of signatures if an update fails.

The rollback option can be helpful if, for example, threat signature updates have failed because of a connection error. You can roll back to the previous threat signatures and try to update it again later.
