Depending on the type of corruption not all files are recoverable. A damaged file can be recovered when the information is damaged or corrupt, but not when it has been erased from the file.

ExcelFIX can only restore information left in the file after the corruption. In most cases this is 99% to 100% of the file.

Currently ExcelFIX does not recover:

• Password protected files.
• Visual Basic and Macros.
• Array formulas.
• Pivot tables: only cell values are recovered.
