Address Tools
Address Tools were introduced in NetCaptor 7 to make it easy to manipulate the
current web page. Select the "Address Tools" button on the address bar to use these tools.
Some of the default tools installed with NetCaptor include:
- Whois domain info - see who owns this web sites domain name
- Wayback Machine - see older versions of the current web page
- Similar Pages - Google - see sites that are similar to the current one
- Backward Links - Google - see sites that link to this site
- Cached Page - Google - see a cached version of this site
- Site Information - Alexa - get more information about this site using the Alexa service
- Related Links - Alexa - see sites that are related to this one
- Anonymizer.com - browse this site anonymously with Anonymizer.com
Organizing Address Tools
Address Tools work by opening a new browser tab at a specified location that has
been dynamically set based on the current web site. A great way to learn about how Address Tools
work is to look at the examples that come with NetCaptor.
Replacement Variables
There are currently two replacement variables that can be used with Address Tools.
- {url} - replaced with the full url of the current browser tab
- {domain} - replaced with the domain name of the current browser tab
