This check identifies whether the computer that is being scanned is a domain controller.
For a Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT domain, a domain controller is the server that authenticates domain logons and maintains the security policy and the security accounts master database for the domain. Domain controllers manage user access to a network, which includes logging on, authentication, and access to the directory and shared resources. Domain controllers also hold all domain user accounts, including key administrator accounts. For these reasons, domain controllers should be considered key resources that need strong protection.
