CD Burning - step by step
Problem definition
You want to burn a CD with files/directories that are in directory "W:\MyCD\".
Your CDR drive is "E:\".
You want to use CDCheck to:
- provide means to check in the future if the CD is still readable without errors [Step 1,2,3]
- make sure CD was burned successfully (the CD burned is an exact copy of files on disk) [Step 4]
Step by step
- Run CDCheck
- Click "CRC" at the top
- Enter as source "W:\MyCD\" where files were gathered for making the CD
- Click "Continue" and the CRC File will be created
- After the CRC File creation ends, click "Continue"
(optional) Click "Check" at the top
- Enter as source the CD drive "W:\MyCD\"
- After the CRC check ends, click "Continue"
This step is optional because it only makes sure that Step 2 was successful (CRC File was correctly created).
You should see a note that CRC File was detected and there should be no errors.
- Burn directory "W:\MyCD\" to CD with your favourite CD recording software
- Click "Compare" at the top
- Enter E:\ as source (the CDR drive)
- Enter W:\MyCD\ as reference (directory where files were gathered for making the CD)
- Check both compare directions
- Click "Continue" and the comparison starts
- After the Compare ends, click "Continue"
