CD Burning - step by step

Problem definition
You want to burn a CD with files/directories that are in directory "W:\MyCD\".
Your CDR drive is "E:\".

You want to use CDCheck to:
- provide means to check in the future if the CD is still readable without errors [Step 1,2,3]
- make sure CD was burned successfully (the CD burned is an exact copy of files on disk) [Step 4]

Step by step

  1. Run CDCheck

  2. Click "CRC" at the top
    1. Enter as source "W:\MyCD\" where files were gathered for making the CD
    2. Click "Continue" and the CRC File will be created
    3. After the CRC File creation ends, click "Continue"

  3. (optional) Click "Check" at the top
    1. Enter as source the CD drive "W:\MyCD\"
    2. After the CRC check ends, click "Continue"
This step is optional because it only makes sure that Step 2 was successful (CRC File was correctly created). You should see a note that CRC File was detected and there should be no errors.

  4. Burn directory "W:\MyCD\" to CD with your favourite CD recording software

  5. Click "Compare" at the top
    1. Enter E:\ as source (the CDR drive)
    2. Enter W:\MyCD\ as reference (directory where files were gathered for making the CD)
    3. Check both compare directions
    4. Click "Continue" and the comparison starts
    5. After the Compare ends, click "Continue"
