Its data-conferencing features let you draw on a shared whiteboard, send text messages, transfer files, and collaborate in real time with multiple people within any Windows application. NetMeeting's real-time audio features let you talk to other people over the Internet. Version 3.01 offers many new features and enhancements. The program now has a Web-based Internet directory and a smaller task-based user interface that can be embedded in a Web page via an ActiveX control. Also, shared programs now appear in new windows on your desktop and can be resized or minimized. NetMeeting calls can now be placed to telephones and videoconferencing systems through the use of gateways or gatekeepers. Another new feature is Remote Desktop Sharing, which allows you to access and use one computer from another by sharing the desktop. Many performance improvements have also been made, including lower bandwidth requirements for faster performance, support for 24-bit true color, enhanced security, and, on faster multimedia machines and high-speed networks, NetMeeting can now achieve up to 30-frames-per-second video performance. This service pack includes the latest version of NetMeeting 3.01, software development kit (SDK) bug fixes, and all of the fixes previously included in Service Pack 1. NetMeeting's Microsoft Internet Directory supports the new version of MSN Messenger so you can find people more quickly on the Internet. I have seen people say giving out IP is a drawback, but it is readily available on the net at all times anyway. Direct IP dial is one of the features, not a drawback. Great Program!!! Anonymous "too bad the prog never works" i have had everyone get this program and it never worked for anyone yet that i know of...you couldn't place a call if the prog depended on it...
