What is AllChars ?
------------------

AllChars for Windows is a Windows utility that makes all ANSI-characters 
easy accessable within every Windows application.

Just type a CTRL-key (and release it !) followed by two characters that
combined specify the character.
AllChars is very intuitive in usage, transparent to other programs and 
adjustable by the user.

Type CTRL h h to show all special characters and there key-combinations.



Macros
------

AllChars also supports macros functionallity: expanding abbreviations into 
longer text strings. 
Macros support includes secret macros for logins etc. and date/time functions.
See the manual for more information.

Old Allchars users : You must type a '/' followed by the macro name. 



Is usage free ?
---------------

Yes AllChars for Windows is FREEWARE, free to use. But ... AllChars is 
fully copyrighted.



Compatibility, installing and using AllChars
--------------------------------------------

AllChars versions 3.x works fine with Windows95, Windows98 and Windows NT 4.
Others told me it also works fine with Windows2000.

Just copy this stuff to any directory and add ALLCHARS.EXE to your
startup group if you want to start it every time Windows starts.



EURO currency symbol in Windows95 and NT 4
------------------------------------------

This version supports the EURO symbol after you have run Microsofts 'Euro Patch'.
For Windows95 you need the 'Windows 95 beta 1 Euro product update' and for Windows NT 4 
the 'Windows NT 4 codepage support patch' or 'Service Pack 4'.

Older Versions
--------------

Version 3 is a 32-bit version for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95 and Windows 98.
Version 2 (32 bit) is NOT compatible with Windows 98 !
Use the 16-bit version for Windows 3.11: AllChars version 1.2x.
