System Requirements ======================================================================= Before installing Screen Rip32, make sure your computer meets these minimum requirements: - 486 processor - Windows 95/98/NT operating system - 1 MB free hard disk space ======================================================================= 2. Installation Instructions ======================================================================= There are three files associated with Screen Rip32: - srip32.zip: a compressed file containing srip32.exe - sriphelp.chm: an online help file - ReadMe.txt: the file that you are reading To install and run Screen Rip32, you decompress the file named srip32.zip to a folder and run the executable file. *Opening the Compressed File with WinZip* The Screen Rip32 file is compressed for faster downloading and must be decompressed with WinZip before use. To open the compressed file: 1. Double-click the srip32.zip file. WinZip is activated. The WinZip License Agreement appears. 2. To proceed with the extraction process, click I Agree. The WinZip window appears displaying the file named SRip32.exe. 3. Click Extract. The Extract window appears. 4. In the Folders/drives box, choose the destination folder. 5. Click Extract. The file is decompressed to the chosen folder. You can delete the compressed file. *Running Screen Rip32* Screen Rip32 consists of one 507KB executable file named SRip32.exe. To run Screen Rip32: - Double-click the Screen Rip32 executable file. The Screen Rip32 window appears, ready for use. Refer to the online help for information on using Screen Rip32. *Running the Online Help File* sriphelp.chm is an HTML Help file. It provides you with: - An overview of the Screen Rip32's features - Procedures for each of the commands and configurations - A Glossary - An Index - A search tool The help file is linked to the Help menu in the main Screen Rip32 window. Please keep in mind that this file and the Screen Rip32 executable must be in the same directory. To run the online help file: - Double-click the sriphelp.chm file. The Screen Rip32 Help window appears, ready for use. or - Click the "Contents..." option from the Help menu of the Screen Rip32 main window. ======================================================================= 3. Known Bugs ======================================================================= This is a beta version of Screen Rip32 1.0. Some features do not work yet, and some may produce poor quality images. The first real release will be fully functional. *Non-Working Features* The following features do not work: - Printing: you must print your images using another application. *Imperfect Features* There are some subtle and inconsistent bugs. The following features are known to contain some bugs: - GIF Animation - Image Duplication - Color Reduction True dithering algorithms were not implemented in the beta release. Color reduction and image duplication may not be exact.
