Description: ------------ OpenWin is an enhanced version of the Windows 'Close Program' applet (Ctrl-Alt-Del). It displays information on all currently open windows on your machine. The Window's handle, title caption, and window class are shown for both visible and hidden windows. Information displayed may be saved to disk, and any window may be restored, or closed down. Installation: ------------- o Unzip the openwin.exe file from the archive into the desired folder, and create a shortcut as required. Installation is unnecessary, OpenWin only uses the main exe file, and may be run from anywhere - even a floppy disk or web location. No DLLs are installed, and no registry values added. Usage: ------ Main Menu: o File>Save - Saves the currently displayed data in a comma-delimited file, default filename 'openwin.txt'. o File>Save As - Opens 'Save As' dialog before saving as above. o File>Exit - Close program. o Refresh>Refresh [F5] - Refreshes displayed data. o Help>About - displays about box. o Help>help - shows brief help hint. Pop-up Menu: o Show This Window - attempts to restore the selected window to normal state.(ie semds SW_SHOWNORMAL message) o Close This Window - attempts to close the selected window. (ie sends WM_CLOSE message) Deinstallation: --------------- o Simply delete openwin.exe, and possibly any information you saved, if no longer required. No other files are installed, and no alterations are made to the registry.
