Saros 145

Total solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 is a member of Saros 145 cycle (Saros cycle at ascending node). The first eclipse of this cycle was the partial eclipse near the North pole on January 4, 1639, the last one will be the partial eclipse near the South pole on April 17, 3009, i.e. the duration of Saros 145 cycle is 1370.29 years. This Saros cycle consists of 77 eclipses - 41 (53.2%) total eclipses, 1 (1.3%) annular eclipse, 1 (1.3%) hybrid eclipse and 34 (44.2%) partial eclipses. Time is given in UT. Type of eclipse is denoted P ...partial, T ... total, A ... annular, H ... hybrid. Gamma is the distance of lunar shadow axis from Earth's centre given in Earth radii. Mag. is eclipse magnitude at maximum eclipse. Lat. and Long. denote latitude and longitude of lunar axis intersection with Earth's surface. If the eclipse is noncentral the intersection does not exist and in that case latitude and longitude of the nearest point to shadow axis is given. V denotes the height of Sun above horizon in degrees. L denotes the path of totality width in kilometers. Duration is the maximum duration of total or annular eclipse.
