Exceptionally Bright Prominence

The passing Moon gradually uncovers prominences hidden at the beginning of the eclipse. They include an exceptionally bright prominence seen at top right. Its red radiation is so intense that the scattered light inside the camera gave a red tinge to a large part of the otherwise completely black Moon in the picture. A darker version of the same picture clearly shows how much stronger the radiation of this prominence is compared with the other prominences that can be observed. The last very dark version of the same picture shows the prominences in their full splendour but display of the corona is considerably subdued.
