Corona and Prominences

The Moon has just covered the solar photosphere completely. In this time there are good conditions for taking pictures of more distant parts of solar corona. Therefore I am starting to take a sequence of images with gradually increasing exposure. It is not possible to obtain the optimum contrast in all parts of solar corona in one single image. The image you can see on this page was taken with 1/125 s exposure. This exposure recorded prominences and inner corona with good contrast. Following images in the sequence show with good contrast the middle corona but prominences and the inner corona are highly overexposed.
