PKZIP Explorer is the latest offering from the folks who actually invented the ZIP compression algorithm. This fine program is a snap to use and offers a myriad of advanced features. The only thing missing is support for creating self-extracting ZIP files. Departing from the standalone interface approach, PKZIP Explorer is exclusively available as a Windows Explorer shell extension. Just browse for a ZIP file from within Explorer and double-click the file to view the contents in a new Explorer window. You can view and extract individual files, edit existing ZIP files, and create new ones without leaving Explorer by using right-click context menus, drag-and-drop, and integrated tools such as Add and Extract dialogs. Advanced features include spanned ZIP file support, file splitting, ZIP file encryption, digital signatures, and more. Excellent documentation is included. Note: Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 systems require Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. Enabling shell integration is recommended for full utilization of PKZIP Explorer functionality.
