Fill

Purpose: Fills a selection with a specified string in hex. The string can have up to 15 characters. When the end of string is met, the filling pattern is repeated from the beginning. Information on selection start/end/length are on this dialog box to assist you.

Generate random characters: Instead of filling the selection while the inserted byte, kernel generates random characters and fills the selection.

You have two choices if generation of random characters is selected:

• Limit characters to numbers and letters: Available when generate random characters option is selected. Limits the random characters to numbers (0 to 9) and letters (A to Z and a to z) so that it'll look like scattered text file.
• Select a range: if 0-255 range is selected, then no effect is applied. However, you can choose to allow only a certain range of characters to be generated randomly, i.e. 100 to 110.
