Users of Microsoft
Office 2000 may find their HTML exported pages only display well in Internet
Explorer, or that their code is not approved by a validator. Although any editor
should produce HTML code that is valid, but there are a few editors that do
not adhere to guidelines, and unfortunately this includes Microsoft Word 97
and 2000.
However, help is
on the way in the form of Word 2000 HTML Tidy. This will strip out surplus proprietary
tags, excessive HTML markup and poor formatting and generate a better (if not
optimized) document, which should display well in many browsers. Don't use this
if you want absolutely no changes to Word 2000 HTML.
