StuffIt for Windows is a powerful file compression utility that handles Windows ZIP, Macintosh Stuffit/SIT and Unix tar/gzip formats.
StuffIt is composed of four applications: DropStuff, DropZip, Aladdin Expander, and the StuffIt Browser. 

With DropStuff, DropZip or Expander, you simply right-click or drag-and-drop your files to desktop shortcuts and let StuffIt do the rest. The StuffIt Browser has a Windows Explorer-type interface for advanced archive creation and management. StuffIt supports SIT, ZIP, RAR, ACE, ARJ, TAR, GZ, TGZ, LZH, and CAB archive formats plus MIME/B64, Uuencode, BinHex, and MacBinary encoding and decoding for handling e-mail attachments. 

Stuffit/SIT files, which can be used on the PC or the Macintosh, are an average of 20% smaller in size than ZIP files.
