Using a Java Applet: Choose "Java Applet" from the "Insert" menu. Java is a platform-independent programming language, which creates applications which can be run on any computer with the Java Virtual Machine installed. Applets are also created in Java, but they can also be run inside a compatible browser too. For more information go to http://java.sun.com Java applets are mostly used for graphical purposes, such as online advertising, rollover images and games. These applets are stored on a web server, and can be run from a computer connected to the Internet. Applets larger than 10 kilobytes should be avoided, as they can take several minutes to display and frustrate users
