ActiveX was developed by Microsoft, as an embedded technology for web browsers. This allows users of Internet Explorer see objects such as buttons, text editors and movies by calling upon an ActiveX file. Some components in ScriptWorx utilise ActiveX technologies, but these make no connection to the Internet, nor transmit any data out of the program. Many vendors are now making ActiveX controls, and these can be used within HTML or within other programming languages: For example: Borland Delphi 3 and greater. A "Software Developers Kit" is available to allow you to create your own ActiveX controls. This can be found by clicking here. Users of Netscape Navigator will not see any ActiveX controls.
