ArjFolder 10-25-99 Mounier Raphael H O T C L I C K S Yahoo! Messenger Today's Free File Weekly Top 10 ArjFolder is a handy Windows shell extension that adds some punch to Explorer. Unavailable as a standalone program, ArjFolder can be accessed only from the Explorer context menu. It allows you to select as many files and folders as you like to archive in .zip and .arj formats -- two of the most popular compression formats. Features include multidisk support, folder recursion, drag-and-drop support, wildcard extraction, and password protection. A configuration utility also allows you to associate other supported archive types with ArjFolder. These include files compressed using .gzip, .ace, .rar, .cab, .tgz, .z, and .tar. If you double-click on an associated file in Explorer, a new Explorer window opens to display and access the contents. ArjFolder is very handy for accessing .cab files, in particular. It's very easy to use and -- best of all -- it's free. Reviewed on Oct 24 1999.
