To create a new outline click on the 
button from the ToolBar . You'll see the root of your new outline.
Let's give it a title "Business trip". Click on the 
button (or press F2) and input title to the root. Finish
editing by clicking outside the edit field or by pressing ENTER.
Now let's put some
notes to root item. Click anywhere on the right pane (or press Tab) and input
some notes concerning our trip.
After putting some notes the title of the root item became bold - this means, that item has a
non-empty note.
