Because you may install a plug-in that that you don't trust, you can activate X-Setup's "Safe Mode" ("File" - "Safe Mode"). If this mode is activated, X-Setup will ask you before the plug-in is allowed to change anything on your system.
For example, if the plug-in tries to write a value to the registry, a message appears displaying what the plug-in tries to do and if the plug-in should be allowed to perform this action. If you select "No" in this dialog, the plug-in is not allowed to perform the action and will be shut down. No changes are made to your system in this case.
