Help with Auto Configuration Your browser is currently using an auto-configuration file. This file contains information that Webcelerator needs but does not have access to. To use Webcelerator you will need to get from your network administrator the information about your server. Then you will need to enter this information manually.
Choose your browser version: Internet Explorer 3®
To adjust network connection settings in Internet Explorer 3®, click on the VIEW menu button and select "Options." Select the "Connection" tab. On the "Proxy Server" panel you will see a check-box option to "Connect through a proxy server." Please check this box. Press "Settings" to see the place for an HTTP address and port number. Make an HTTP proxy setting of 127.0.0.1 and port number 24491. Secure web pages, FTP sites, and gopher links will use direct internet connection at all times. In the "Advanced" panel which shows your HTTP address you can specify other specific sites with which you wish to have a direct connection. Jump to Step 3. Internet Explorer 4®
To adjust network connection settings in Internet Explorer 4®, click on the VIEW menu button and select "Internet Options." Choose the "Connection" tab. Press "Configure" in the lower panel labeled "Automatic Configuration." Delete the entry for the URL, and choose "Okay." On the "Proxy Server" panel you will see a check-box option to "Access the Internet using a proxy Server." Please check this box. Press "Advanced" to see the place for an HTTP address and port number. Make an HTTP proxy setting of 127.0.0.1 and port number 24491. Jump to Step 3. Internet Explorer 5®
To view or adjust network connection settings in Internet Explorer 5®, click on the TOOLS menu button and select "Internet Options." Choose the "Connections" tab.
Select your connection from among those displayed in the Dial-up Settings window, then click on "Settings" to view or edit the details.
Netscape Communicator®
To adjust network connection settings in Netscape Communicator®, click on the EDIT menu button and select "Preferences." In the left "Categories" panel, double-click the word "Advanced", then click on "Proxies." On the right panel, delete the entry for the Automatic Proxy Configuration URL and check the "Manual Proxy Connection" option. Press "VIEW" to see the place for an HTTP address and port number. Make an HTTP proxy setting of 127.0.0.1 and port number 24491. Jump to Step 3. Netscape 3 ®
To adjust network connection settings in Netscape 3®, click on the OPTIONS menu button and select "Network Preferences." Select the "Proxies" tab.
Delete the entry for the Automatic Proxy Configuration URL and check the "Manual Proxy Connection" option. Press "VIEW" to see the place for an HTTP address and port number. Make an HTTP proxy setting of 127.0.0.1 and port number 24491. 3. Double-click on the Webcelerator tray icon or launch Webcelerator through the program menu. Open the Webcelerator "Settings" panel, then choose "Network Settings." Check the "Enable Proxy" option. Enter the server address you were given by your network administrator into the HTTP entry. Enter the port address you were given into the blank to the right of the HTTP address. Click "okay." You should now be able to access the Internet through Webcelerator.
