Finger

GNU Finger has more features than other finger programs. For sites with many hosts, a single host may be designated as the finger "server" host and other hosts at that site configured as finger "clients". The server host collects information about who is logged in on the clients. To finger a user at a GNU Finger site, a query to any of its client hosts gets useful information. GNU Finger supports many customization features, including user output filters and site-programmable output for special target names.
