Tray Command Line is a handy command line replacement for Windows 95. Since it's written in Visual C++ it's very fast and doesn't consume much memory. This archive contains: TrayCL.exe - the main program file file_id.diz - quick program info readme.txt - this file changes.txt - text file describing version changes help.htm - Quick help on TrayCL Installation: No Installation required - just run traycl.exe and you're all set. Using Tray Command Line: * Use [down-arrow] key to recall last command(s) from the history list, or press [alt+down arrow] to view history. * To hide TrayCL dialog press Esc, to activate it press a hotkey, usually Ctrl-Space (you can change the hotkey in Options->Advanced dialog). * If you want the program to be loaded automatically each time windows starts then check Options->Run On Startup menu item. * If you want the program to be hidden each time the command is executed then check Options->Minimize Automatically menu item. * To assign alias to a program/edit aliases choose Edit->Aliases menu item (alias is a short name which you can assign to a program). For example you can assign "dir" alias to "c:\win95\explorer.exe" and then typing "dir d:" will open explorer window for drive d:. * To insert file argument(s) into a command line insert space in the end of a command and press dir button (the chosen file will be placed after space). Some other features: * (Options->Advanced) AutoComplete - when this option is on, TrayCL auto-guesses the commands you try to enter. AutoComplete has 2 modes: 1. Normal mode - TrayCL tries to guess the text after amount of time specified in delay field. 2. Smart mode - TrayCL tries to guess the text after amount of time specified in delay field and if it determines that the string you've entered so far is unique in the history list - the command is auto-guessed immediately without any further delay. * (Options->Advanced) Ability to change "dir" button default path - pressing dir button will open file dialog in the user-specified directory. Default is "\". * (Options->FastRun hotkey) Pressing this hotkey will execute the last program entered in TrayCL dialog. * (Options->Show tray icon) Ability to show/hide tray icon. If this option is unchecked the tray icon is hidden and the program can be activated only by a hotkey. * (Options->Mini-view) Mini-view mode (no menus & no caption). * For more info check help.htm ------------------------------------------------------------- Important notes: * Not all hotkey combinations work - it's not a bug, just for your knowledge.
