Password and Remote Port Settings

This is the same Password that is set in MiniRem.

The use of a Password for Minicom and MiniRem is recommended.

The Remote Port setting is defaulted to 2600. The reason it is changeable is in case another program has grabbed that port. In that case set Minicom & Minirem ports to typically 2601, 2700 or 2800. Minicom remembers the port of each host so its totally flexible and automatic.

LAN or Modem Settings

These decide whether you connect by LAN or Modem to the Remote Host. If by Modem then you can select the Dial-up link to use.

Settings specific to Screen command mode.

In this mode you can disable or enable the remote host PCs screen, keyboard and mouse and access by other users of Minicom.

( These settings are not available for NT4 systems. )
