PhotoAlb 01-19-99 Richard Scullion H O T C L I C K S Today's Free File Weekly Top 10 PC Magazine utilities PhotoAlb enables you to collate a set of pictures stored on your hard disk or CD-ROM into a browsable virtual photo album. Features let you use a manual or automatic slideshow, with support for MIDI music; print an index or a WYSIWYG copy of the virtual album; and reorder your pictures into the order you prefer. You can view the photos at actual size or scale them to fit the screen, with hardware-accelerated anti-aliasing available to remove pixelization. You can also add unlimited comments to each photo; the first line appears under the photo with a drop-down box for easy editing. An included screen saver displays your albums, which may be shared with others. You'll also find editing capabilities, command-line options, TWAIN support, and database functions. You can try this unregistered version for 30 days; however, there are several limitations. Reviewed on Nov 17 1998.
