 Altered Icons is a free collection of 55 256-color 32x32 icon files. They're inspired by the icons that come with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and Windows 98, but they appear as if they're jumping out at you, which gives them a cartoon-y look. You'll find icons for standard Windows elements and modules such as My Computer, Dial-Up Networking, and Control Panel, as well as icons for specific programs such as Winamp, Word, and Excel. Make sure your system is set to 16-bit color or higher to use these.
