Exports of Items of Cultural Value

Pursuant the Act No.71/1994, each item of cultural value should, when it is exported out of the Czech Republic, be accompanied with a particular certificate that is issued to applicants by museums and galleries authorized by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The National Technical Museum is authorized to issue these certificates for objects from the field of science and technology.
The following items are regarded as objects of cultural value in the field of science and technology that should be accompanied with a particular certificate for export: The applicant submits the application for issuing the certificate to the National Technical Museum on prescribed forms in four copies for each object.
The applicant should fill in each of the four forms of the certificate by typing or in block letters in compliance with instructions on the form and should attach 2 pictures of the object in question of dimensions 8x12 cm (front and rear views, or side views in case of motorcycles and front-side and back-side view in case of two-track transport vehicles) and he shall attach one counterpart of a court expert opinion (identification of the object, not an appraisal).
In order to facilitate the proceeding to the applicants the National Technical Museum deals the applications by mail while maintaining all above mentioned instructions. The applications can be mailed by a registered letter to the address National Technical Museum, Department of Exports, Kostelni 42, 170 78, Praha 7. The National Technical Museum shall deal with the applications within a legal term of 30 days and send them C.O.D. to the applicants against a legal fee 500,- Kc + p.p.
