Pre-historical furnace

Pre-historical furnace is one of the most oldest objects of our museum. It is the origin of the iron metallurgy furnace from 12th century. It is made from the burning clay, formed as a kettle refininf hearth, diameter approx. 1 m. The furnace was discovered during the archeological reconnaissance in the area of the St. Agnes Monastery in Prague. Now, the furnace is placed in the permanent exhibition of metallurgy - History of the Iron.
