Alois Richtr (1927-1995) was trained at the firm Bata as an electric mechanician, later a draftsman. In 1949-1954 he was a pupil of Z.Kovar in Zlin and Uherske Hradiste. Since 1955, he worked as an industrial artistic designer in Kovostav Usti nad Orlici, together with designers he created several measuring instruments, new shapes of spinning looms BD 200. Since 1959 he led the artistic centre of Elitex Liberec, Research Centre Brno. He designed the shape of machine ARACHNE and together with inventor Vladimir Svaty he solved the shape of hydraulic and pneumatic jet looms (world primary, Czechoslovak patent). He designed the shape of industrial sewing machines for Minerva.
