Typewriter Odkolek

The typewriter Odkolek received its name after its inventor and designer Jindrich Odkolek. This distinguished Prague burgher, owner of mills and bakeries, designed it in the 60s of 19th century. He manufactured the only model that is now deposited in the National Technical Museum. This machine was designed for typing on a flat base - paper sheet laid on a table. It contains 49 characters - capital letters, numerals and punctuation marks. After each stroke the typing mechanism has to be shifted by a walking button.
