The exhibition has an internationally registered name
Intercamera. Over 2500 objects are displayed on the area of
1100 m2.
The exhibition is divided into space coherent thematic
sections: optics, photographic chemistry and physics, colour
photography, history of photographic cameras, photographic
accessories, application of photography in science and
technology, prehistory of cinematography, period of
cinematography prior to Lumiere Brothers, filming equipment,
auxiliary instruments in cinematography, projection
equipment.
The exhibition contains three-dimensional scaled-down models
of a film studio from the 1920s, Muybridge's studios for
series photography in California from 1877, Marey's studios
of moving photographs in Paris from 1882.
The exhibition includes a parlour with a 15-minutes audio-
video show which makes a visitor acquainted with the history
of man's desire for making a record of motion, beginning
from cave drawings, via shadow-plays in China and puppets of
Java to the invention of cinematograph. Worth particular
attention is the large collection of beautiful hand-painted
glasses for magic lantern. The atmosphere is rounded off by
displayed original parts of the actor's costume of Charles
Chaplin. Many demonstrating exhibits can be put into motion
by a visitor.
